Middle Age Crazy (1980)

$20.00

DIRECTOR: John Trent (Best Revenge)

STARS: Bruce Dern (Tattoo, Psych-Out, Thumb Tripping), Ann-Margret, Graham Jarvis, Deborah Wakeham, Eric Christmas

SYNOPSIS: Bruce Dern stars as a successful architect living in Texas with his loving wife Ann-Margret. The film starts off with his 40th birthday bash (his big gift is a Beta player!) with all his friends and family in attendance. Everyone means well but he's in a serious funk about entering middle age. As the days go by he gets so depressed he fantasizes about screwing his son's girlfriend, eulogizing at his own funeral, buying a sports car and more like some kind of R-rated Walter Mitty. Eventually he falls hard for a pro-ball cheerleader and they have a few hook-ups, he neglects his work and fights with his wife. Dern is fine if a little miscast and Ann-Margret is a needy kook who can hardly stand one night alone without her husband. This film was a staple on cable TV in the 80's. Amazingly it was produced by Sid & Marty Krofft and their classic H.R. Pufnstuf is playing on a television during one scene!
