Journey into the Beyond (1975)
(aka Reise ins Jenseits)
DIRECTOR: Rolf Olsen (Nurses for Sale, Bloody Friday)
STARS: Narrated by John Carradine (Bigfoot, Bluebeard)
SYNOPSIS: German made mondo film with narration from John Carradine added to the U.S. release. Not as graphic as the vhs hit Faces of Death this mondo still deals dips it's toe into some more gruesome aspects of worldly weirdness. With an emphasis on supernatural phenomenon it covers: Kirlian photography, hypnotic anesthesia (a girl has bloody dental work done), possession / exorcism, seances, large needles pushed through a man's cheek, telekinesis, voodoo, psychic surgery and more. In the tradition of having classic horror film vets like Boris Karloff (Mondo Balordo), Vincent Price (Devil's Triangle) and Basil Rathbone (Nostradamus) narrate mondo films, Carradine adds a little bit of Shakespearean class to the proceedings.
