Amazing World of Psychic Phenomena (1976)
DIRECTOR: Robert Guenette (Mysterious Monsters, The Man Who Saw Tomorrow)
STARS: Raymond Burr (narrator) (The Night the City Screamed), Jean Dixon, Linda Gray, Frank Doubleday (Assault on Precinct 13, Escape from New York)
SYNOPSIS: This is one of the more obscure 70's phenomena documentaries (ala Chariot of the Gods, In Search of Naoh’s Ark, Bermuda Triangle, etc). Raymond Burr is the onscreen narrator as he guides viewers through such subjects as astral projection, ghosts, telekinesis, telepathy, etc. This includes a man who is able to control how dice will land in a casino game of craps, a female pilot landing her plane to save a passenger in a burning car after receiving a telepathic cry for help and famed psychic Jeanne Dixon being interviewed. In one sequence police use a psychic to piece together a young girl's murder. She sees visions of the creepy killer (an uncredited Frank Doubleday!) and leads them to his apartment. A medium channels dead spirits for friends and family members. In one weird sequence a man projects his mental images onto the raw negative of a still camera. Future "Dallas" star Linda Gray is terrified by a spirit haunting her house. A satisfying entry for fans of this genre niche.
