How Come Nobody's on Our Side? (1974)
DIRECTOR :Richard Michaels
STARS: Adam Rourke (Savage Seven, Hell's Belles), Larry Bishop (Soul Hustler, Angel Unchained), Alexandra Hay (Skidoo, One Man Jury), Rob Reiner, Penny Marshall, John Garwood (A Taste of Hell), Richard Yniguez (Crime of Crimes), Robert Tessier (Outlaw Riders, Longest Yard)
SYNOPSIS: Two movie stuntmen (Rourke and Bishop) go on a road trip that includes lots of weird characters and smuggling drugs. This is a low budget, lightweight, comedy that feels very much like it was made for TV. Rourke and Bishop get fed up with working on a cheap biker film and drive away with the production's choppers. They're amiable guys but not too bright and spend the bulk of the story trying to come up with a plan to make money. In one scene they try to get into a movie theater for free that's showing The Savage Seven (a film Rourke and Bishop actually star in) by telling the usher they're the stars (he doesn't believe them)! They crash at Rourke's sister's place at the beach and bum around until a scheme is planned to drive to Mexico and buy weed from Rob Reiner and Penny Marshall. Needless to say these two guys can't get anything right. Harmless silly fun.
