Foolin' Around (1980)

$20.00

DIRECTOR: Richard Heffron (Outlaw Blues)

STARS: Gary Busey (Point Break, Didn't You Hear), Annette O'Toole, Eddie Albert, Cloris Leachman, Tony Randall, Michael Talbott, William H. Macy (Fargo)

SYNOPSIS: Romantic comedy, and 80's cable TV favorite, that still entertains after all these years. A young Gary Busey stars as a somewhat naive good 'ol boy who is a little out of his league at a fancy college (the University of Minnesota in this case). He stumbles through various slapstick(ish) situations before meeting sexy Annette O'Toole. He is immediately smitten. The problem is she's engaged to an awful elitist snob. Busey eventually wins her over with his old-fashioned charm and sense of humor in this 80's version of a classic screwball comedy. Featuring a memorable chase scene with a hot dog-shaped truck, an appearance from a very young William H. Macy, a hair-raising ride on a construction crane and the famous hang glider finale. With nice supporting turns by Cloris Leachman, Eddie Albert and a very funny (very weird) performance by Tony Randall. "Seals and Crofts" provide the soundtrack music including the memorable title tune. this one is a personal favorite.
