Happy End (1966)

$20.00

(aka Stastny Konec)

DIRECTOR: Oldrich Lipsky (I Killed Einstein Gentlemen, Adele Has Not Had Supper Yet)

STARS: Vladimir Mensik (Tomorrow I'll Wake Up and Scald Myself with Tea), Jaroslava Obermaierova, Josef Abrhám (Valerie and Her Week of Wonders)

SYNOPSIS: Fascinating, insane, one-of-a-kind film. It's shown completely in reverse from the end to beginning!! It sounds like it might be hard to follow - but it really isn't. It's a simple tale of a man's life that starts with him being executed for the murder of his wife. It then moves forward (backwards) to her murder and ultimately to the man's own birth. I know of no other film that has attempted this trick! Worth seeing if only for the "wow" factor. In Czech language with English subtitles.
