Deadly Game (1991)

$20.00

DIRECTOR: Thomas J. Wright (Torchlight, No Holds Barred)

STARS: Michael Beck (The Warriors, Blackout), Jenny Seagrove, Marc Singer (Beastmaster), Fredric Lehne (Con Air), Roddy McDowell (Fright Night), Soon-Tek Oh (Missing in Action 2), Mitchell Ryan (Lethal Weapon)

SYNOPSIS: A group of strangers are invited to a remote private island. They accept with the promise by its millionaire owner that he will fund their various interests. Before the guests can unpack their suitcases, the owner's henchmen explain that they must trek on foot to the opposite side of the island to a waiting boat and their money. The catch is that the group will be hunted through the jungle ala Most Dangerous Game by the men and their crazed boss. Various clues throughout the island reveal a past deed in each character's lives in which they screwed someone over, broke the law, etc. They soon realize that they all have a connection to the same man…the one who is now hunting them like animals. There's a good amount of action, some blood and gore as each time someone dies it's in a different unusual way (burned alive, attack dogs, beheading, etc). All the actors seem to be having fun with their roles playing it just a little over-the-top. One character's burn victim face make-up is excellent (courtesy in part of Walking Dead KFB EFX honcho Gregory Nicotero). A made-for-cable feature.
