Domino (1988)

$20.00

DIRECTOR: Ivana Bassetti

STARS: Brigitte Nielsen (Cobra, Red Sonja), Tomas Arana, Kim Rossi Stuart, David Warbeck (The Beyond, Miami Horror), Gerretta Geretta (Demons, Shocking Dark)

SYNOPSIS: I'll be honest, this film doesn't make a bit of sense. It's all style over substance. Nielsen plays an artist / filmmaker who is working on a film about Billie Holiday. She literally changes outfits and hair for every single scene. She's blonde, redhead, brunette - short, long, styled, etc. She's frequently nude or partially dressed. She quite often looks striking. She has a telephone stalker that she becomes obsessed with and longs for real love in her life. A blind neighbor, played by genre fave David Warbeck(!), fondles and rubs Nielsen to an orgasm. Gerretta Gerretta, of Demons fame, has a memorable scene in a night club where she dances and instructs a man to touch her while Nielsen watches and gets aroused. Characters talk in philosophical nonsense and riddles. It all takes place in some 1980's music video version of the future. The kind you find in films like Liquid Sky, Obsession: A Taste For Fear, Kamikaze 89 and Cafe Flesh. Everything is half lit with sharp angles and shadows. Minimalist interiors with mostly black and white designs. Outside it's all smoke machines, rear projection car scenes and neon lights. This was the first feature film from an Italian director known for her music video work.
