Angel of H.E.A.T. (1983)
DIRECTOR: Myrl A. Schreibman (Liberty & Bash)
STARS: Marilyn Chambers (Behind the Green Door, Party Inc.), Mary Woronov (Eating Raoul, Hollywood Man), Stephen Johnson, Milt Kogan, Randy West (as Andy Abrams), Harry Townes, Gerald Okamura (Big Trouble in Little China, Samurai Cop)
SYNOPSIS: Any teenager growing up in the early 80's was excited to find this film on late night cable TV. A 12-year old boy would be less discerning about the filmmaking and more than happy to settle into this mix of karate, corny jokes, mud wrestling, sci-fi and titties. This campy action comedy stars porn legend Marilyn Chambers as "Harmony", a secret agent who excels in martial arts and screwing. Her special ops team is named H.E.A.T. (Harmony's Elite Attack Team). They learn karate moves from an Asian master (Okamura) who looks straight out of a Shaw Brothers movie although he speaks with a heavy WWII German accent(!) and addresses Chambers as "Fraulein". Her team is tasked with investigating high tech computer genius "Albert" (who looks exactly like Howard Stern circa 1983). He's creating an army of love droids to take over the world. At the same time two government agents (including sex-crazed Mary Woronov) are also spying on Albert's activities. Albert's lab is on an island protected by hidden cameras, traps and of course the androids. It all ends in a big karate free-for-all. Along the way we see: Chambers and Woronov getting full frontal more than a few times, porn vet Randy West (as "Mean Wong") doing a stereotypical Asian accent and banging Chambers as well as an android orgy. There's hang gliding, live punk music and the aforementioned mud wrestling (with Woronov). Plus dated jokes about Behind the Green Door and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The opening credits spoof James Bond movies as Chambers does karate moves in slo-mo while the title song plays on the soundtrack. Shot in Lake Tahoe.
