The Trap (1966)

$20.00

DIRECTOR: Sidney Hayers (Burn Witch Burn, Assault, Circus of Horrors)

STARS: Oliver Reed (The Devils, Blue Blood), Rita Tushingham

SYNOPSIS: Classic adventure film that holds fond memories for any who saw it as a youth. Oliver Reed is at his toughest as the trapper / woodsman / hunter who buys himself a mute wife (Rita Tushingham). They set off in a canoe into the unforgiving Canadian wilderness. She's not too happy with the arrangement, as you can imagine, but they slowly develop a relationship and understanding. Reed even teaches his fragile new wife the art of trapping and killing animals for their fur. Vicious Indians, wild rapids, hungry wolves & mountain lions and of course the brutally harsh weather conditions challenge this mismatched duo. Reed is entertaining as always (deftly sporting a fine French-Canadian accent!) and Tushingham has the tough job of acting without the use of her voice. They don't make them like this anymore.
