Invasion of the Saucer Men: One of the most entertaining alien / sci-fi / teenage films of the 50's. Horny kids just want to make out at lover's lane in anytown USA. They run over a space invader and its disembodied hand crawls around causing trouble. More aliens arrive and terrorize the locals. A nice mix of horror and comedy. In a rare case of honest advertising the creatures on the poster actually look the same in the movie. They're three feet tall with giant bulging heads and hypodermic style fingers. A flat out classic. Later remade by Larry Buchanan as The Eye Creatures. Running time: 1hr 9mins
It Conquered the World: Misguided scientist Lee Van Cleef contacts an alien from Venus to help out with problems on Earth. He involves good guy Graves into his plan and they end up fighting for their lives against the evil creature. Another fun sci-fi winner with giant mind control bats and a pointy headed carrot-like monster. Griffith Park is once again utilized by AIP for location shooting. Corman vets Beverly Garland, Dick Miller and Jonathan Haze are here too. Paul Blaisdell (It! Terror from Beyond Space, Beast with a Million Eyes) did the special effects / creature design for both films. Later remade by Larry Buchanan as Zontar: the Thing from Venus. Running time: 1hr 11mins
