SYNOPSIS: While traveling across country a man (Forsythe) accidentally kills a pedestrian with his car on an isolated dirt road. He goes for help to a nearby house where he meets Anne Francis and calls the police. When he returns to the crime scene the body is gone. The sheriff (Holliman), a doctor (Alden), and tow truck driver (Meeker) all try to convince him he imagined the whole incident. While his car is being repaired they continue to pretend that no one was killed. When Forsythe investigates and starts asking questions it seems like almost the whole town is against him. Just as he begins questioning his sanity some clues point to a conspiracy plot that he must unravel. This is a solid thriller that might remind you of Hitchcock's The Wrong Man or an episode of The Twilight Zone. Lots of familiar character actors fill out the cast in this made-for-TV rarity.
