SYNOPSIS: Fun, overlooked, made-for-cable action comedy. A former CIA "Bay of Pigs" prisoner (Julia) is released and sent back to the U.S. He cruises through sleazy Florida bars frequented by fishing boat workers. Ultimately, he convinces two men (Ward & Jenkins) to help him out with a wild plan. He explains to them that before being captured he was able to hide a treasure chest full of gold in Cuba. The idea is to sneak back in on a fishing boat and retrieve it, then split it three ways. At first they think Julia is crazy, but with nothing to lose… they agree. Once in Cuba they must avoid Castro's soldiers as well as a guerrilla army led by Victor Argo and his lethal right-hand man Antonio Vargas. Julia also takes the opportunity to visit an old flame. A good amount of action and jungle scenery, laughs (mostly by Ward) and drama come together in this satisfying sleeper. It reminds me a little of Walter Hill's films from the 1980's.
